Social Outings

The Club holds social events for Members and Partners several times a year. These have included guided tours of local landmarks, meals at local restaurants, coach trips and other social occasions.

 

Upcoming Events

 

11:00am, 9 June 2025:  Royal Court Theatre Heritage Tour - a behind the scenes guided tour of this iconic and historic Liverpool Theatre, followed by an optional pub lunch at the Crown Hotel by Lime Street Station. Please note that, due to high demand, all the spaces on the tour have now been filled, but anyone who wishes to attend the lunch at 1:00pm will be most welcome.

 

7 July 2025:  Coach trip to the Ironbridge Gorge.The tour will leave Heswall at 9:00am and return by around 5:00pm. The first stop will be at th Ironbridge itself and the museum. We will then rejoin the coach and travel a short distance to Blists Hill Victorian Town, where you can "travel back in time to experience what everyday life was like in 1900." More events are being planned for 2025, including a visit to Hack Green Secret Nuclear Bunker, and a return to the Bickerton Poacher for an evening of skittles and a meal. Further details will be found here soon.

Past Events

 

In October 2024 the Social Committee organised a coach trip to the RAF Museum in Cosford. This was our first coach trip since before COVID and around 40 members and partners had a excellent day out - see photo above. The trip was so successful that other coach trips will be planned!

Other social events recently organised include:

  • A guided walk (mostly in the rain) around Port Sunlight village (see photo below on the left), followed by lunch at the Bridge Inn.
  • A trip to the Cheshire Military Museum (see photo below on the right), followed by lunch in Chester.
  • Annual visits to the Cowshed at the Wheatsheaf Inn in Raby Village for a evening meal.
  • Beer and skittles (and a meal) at the Bickerton Poacher.

As you can see, many (but not all!) of our Social Events include food & drink!
