Bowls

Heswall Probus has a very active and successful Bowls Section. We play at the Council Green on Poll Hill on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons commencing at 2pm for 2-3 hours.

The season runs from the first Tuesday of April to the last Thursday of September. The sessions are always well attended - on a sunny afternoon we can have up to 20 members present. Traditional tea and biscuits is provided.

Each year we welcome new members, some of whom are trying bowls for the first time. Advice from more experienced players is usually welcomed!

We play for enjoyment and and generally don't take the game too seriously - even during the occasional matches we hold against another Probus Club and Gayton Ladies Bowls Club!

The Bowls Group holds tournaments for singles and doubles during the latter part of the season. The winner of the singles receives a cup, and for the doubles winners there is a shield and a rose bowl.
